Excellent. Hopefully we'll get this duplicated as I'm sure it is an actual problem in WE and not in the script.

Michael, with all scripts reenabled except for Progress Indicator, everything seems to be working just fine. No loss of speech and no errors whatsoever. I' think we're onto something here!

Get us a list of the scripts that you have running and we can go from there.

Hi. With scripts turned off, Window-Eyes is performing much better. Faster response and so far at least, no speech interuptions. Additionally, I have been using programs this afternoon which did experience speech shutdowns with scripts on this morning. I should also point out that with Goldwave I am apparently the only person who is experiencing silenced speech in the first place. As Jim mentioned after having a go at reproducing what I experienced in Goldwave, he didn't experience the problem. But I have also used Outlook Express where WE has crashed for other users, as well as Winamp, (using the 6.1 set files.) No problems there either. I want to mention as well that I'm looking forward to turning that Winamp script back on. Jeff has done a fine job with it.

At any rate, the most striking difference is WE's much faster results with
scripts off. So now, any suggestions on what to try next?

If you remove Window-Eyes the folder containing your sets and scripts is also removed. So, this would mean that any scripts would have to be reinstalled when you reinstall Window-Eyes. However if you upgrade the beta with the upgrade to the final version, this would not be the case.

Now, as to the winamp issue, you could always reinstall the Winamp sets we provide by default from the set file manager. These are the original sets which Window-Eyes 6.1 shipped with and do not use any scripts.

Hope this helps.

Hello list,

I have a question about the removal of scripts. When the new Window Eyes comes out and this beta is uninstalled and the regular version is installed, will all the remnants of the scripts that were install go away along with the beta? The reason I ask, I installed the Winamp scripts, then I took them out because they didn't benefit the way I use Winamp. Now Window Eyes won't read the play list editor the way it used to and I like it better the way it originally was. So I'm hoping that taking out window Eyes will take the scripts and all their parts out as well. Will things turn out that way? Thanks,
