Status messages, number of lines, number of links, frames, tables, lists,
paragraphs, headings, forms, anchors, and flash objects. These are the new
page information settings I have used since 2001. When a page loads into
Browse mode, Window-Eyes typically recites these things in the order they
appear in the new page information dialog. Basically, what I expect to hear
is, "Loading page, load done, 57 lines, 12 links, etcetera." For some
reason, the beta is interposing number of lines and links into its loading
page load done message. I know that older versions of WE started running
off at the mouth before the browse mode buffer had all the information
gathered and Window-Eyes would have to start over again, but in those
instances, it would say, for example, "Loading puh, Luh, loading page, load
done, 57 lines, 12 links, etcetera."

I wonder if anyone else would be interested in reinstalling SAPI Eloquence
so we could compare results.

Lou,

With regard to browse mode, do you normally have WE speak the new page info?
Also do you have status messages checked under the verbocity browse mode new
page info?

Bernie

As many of you know, there are loss of speech problems that occur at random.
Some have lost speech with the GW Micro supplied Eloquence, a few with the
GW Micro supplied DECTalk, some with scripts running, some with scripts
turned off.

Well, I have been running the beta with freshly installed SAPI Eloquence
synths. For good measure, I had re-enabled scripts. I've been going for 5
hours straight, opening html and plain text messages in an attempt to blow
up the beta. I have been switching between Outlook and IE and pressing
Enter on a bunch of links. So far, no blow up. And no stuttering,
crackling, or hesitation either. And, by using the SAPI Eloquence, I have
my independent tone control. Yeah yeah, I know. Eloquence doesn't have
tone control. The tone control switches between Gramps, Grandma, Reid,
Sandy, and Shelly and more, if you've installed other languages. The point
is, the beta tone control allows a user to select the SAPI Eloquence screen,
keyboard, and mouse synths independently. Does ECI Eloquence's lack of this
ability represent a compromise?

Browse mode is doing odd things. Well, I consider them odd. Saying things
like, "Loading page, top, 57 lines, load done" is not what I'm accustomed to
hearing. <shrug> Oh well.

Make yourself heard!
Did you know that there is a joint Cuban-Chinese effort to explore for oil
and natural gas 60 miles off the Florida coast? Why is it OK for other
countries to "ruin the environment" but it is not OK for the US to
responsibly tap our own resources!
