I recently bought and installed something called EASYTRANS. It can translate to and from 7 different languages, including German, English, Sanish etc. You siply copy/aste a text into it, and it will do a draft translation. Copy/paste that one back into a text Editor Like Notepad, Word or the like, and do your proof reading. It even can translate the contents of a webpage, on the fly.
I found it quite accessible, although you might neeed to do some mouse-work. Can't remmember the price exactly, but think it was something like £12, plus shipping, off from EBay. Simply do a search for easytrans. If you don't get it, let me know, and I can find the seller. ----- Original Message ----- From: Philip Fitchett To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, August 27, 2008 8:51 PM Subject: Translation Software Hi, I've recently joined this group because I need some help. I am a blind freelance translator in the UK and recently someone has asked me to use translation software in my work. This is simply to speed up the whole translation process of electronic documents. He mentioned two very well-known ones to try, Trados and SDLX. I haven't got either and I am not sure if window-eyes 6.1 will work with either of them. It's a longshot but does anyone know of the compatibility of window-eyes 6.1 with either of these two pieces of software, or even any other translation software. If not, does anyone know of anywhere where I can find setfiles for such software. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me, Phil ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Make a mini you on Windows Live Messenger! Try it Now!
