WE works with Excel fine. When I started using Excel for the first time it is lot of work to learn the tricks like Ctrl and the arrow keys for example. I still feel that due to the nature of spread sheet applications sighted people can use it nicely as they look for patterns accross cells.
You can certainly go through WE help there is a chapter on Excel. Regarding Protected sheets I am also not sure how to go about using it, did you try copying the entire data on to another sheet which is not protected? Regards Jitendra -----Original Message----- From: Vaughan Dodd [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, August 28, 2008 10:06 AM To: 'gw-info list' Subject: Window-Eyes and Excel Protection of worksheetsand Hello everyone. One of our business analysts has prepared a spreadsheet which many of us access several times a day. He has protected the active worksheet, and this has caused me problems with Window-Eyes. When protected- I cannot use functions such as find "ctrl-f" and I cannot read column headers. A third problem is the inability to select from various pulldown choices. When I unprotected the worksheet (I know the password) all is fine and everything works as it should. Sighted people are apparently not having the same problems. A colleague uses Jaws, and I haven't checked with her. I am new to Excel, and wonder if there is something between it and Window-Eyes which make the partnership an unhappy one or is there something else going on? I have speculated that Windows 2000, and Office 20002 (specifically Excel) are upset with the Window-Eyes DOM - but I really don't know. Any comments and suggestions very much appreciated. Finally: this is Window-Eyes v6.1. Thanks. Vaughan. ------------------------------- This email message and any attachment(s) is intended only for the person(s) or entity(entities) to whom it is addressed.
