I simply use it to prevent other programs from interfering with my games.

Hi,
The program in question is a memory management tool. It not only works
for
WE, but the real memory hogs like microshaft oraface, Lotus Notes and so
on.
Microshaft's memory management leaves a lot to be desired. I am very glad
someone pointed out this software.
I would personally welcome anything like this.
Oh, btw, I reverse engineered the software. There is nothing harmful in
it.
Regards.. Joe Lanier

I really really doubt the programmers at GW are that inept that they
cannot manage WE's priorities properly, so I really doubt this program
will do any good.

It seems to allow the user to keep WE running in memory
without having other programs take precedence, supposedly
causing fewer crashes. That's a layperson's description.
However, I was a little uncomfortable downloading it from the
link provided, so I Googled it and found a site with a copy,
but still very little background on the producer. I'm
reluctant to download and try before knowing more, although
it sounds as if it could be useful.
It would be nice to get some more background on this
software, if possible.

Pcworld suggested a program that will give priority to the
task being run currently. I have set this to realtime and it
works great. If you don't want to be that aggressive you can
set the priority to high. You rightclick on the program in
the systemtray and the options will come up. It works
fantastic if windoweyes keeps crashing. On my 1 gigahertz
machine with 512mb of ram the memory keep s being grabbed
until the system crashes. This program which is called
actual boost does not let that happen as it allocates the cpu
thus not requiring memory to be grabbed.
