Hi, I've got the Win-TV tuner from Hauppauge. It's not the card, it's the software that's driving me to frustration.
I can record TV shows and vhs cassettes and my mini dv camera using Windows Media Center, but that creates the movies in .msdvr format, and doesn't allow, that I can find, recording in .mpeg or .avi formats. Which would be ok if you just want to watch the recorded material on your pc. I want to put the recorded material on a dvd so I can send mom a copy of all the home movies we've taken of her grandkids, etc. I'm still working on it and I will advise of any breakthroughs. If anyone has advice, I'm listening!
