I've been using the new beta for a week or so and just this morning had
occasion to go into K1000 and make some setting changes. I'm using the latest
version of K1000 and the latest beta of Windoweyes on an XP
pro machine. I notice that when tabbing through a set of menu choices, K1000
looses focus and K1000 stops talking, regardless of whether I'm using Eloquence
or K1000 voices. It's like the computer has to take a
few seconds to catch up to where I've tabbed to. I'm using the K1000 set file
(that's the one that's loaded into windoweyes when I bring up K1000). When I
shut down windoweyes and just have K1000 running, this
problem goes away.
to try this, bring up K1000 and go into the settings menu, then into voices.
Tab through the menu choices for your reading voice settings. I find that K1000
looses focus and stops speaking. Is anyone else having this
problem with K1000 or other programs? What could be causing this?
I've never noticed this problem before.
  Thanks John

p.s This is similar to a problem I'm having with the Office 2003 word
spellchecker where I have to shift-tab back to a choice to hear the menu choice
when I'm in the spellchecker; also that Windoweyes no longer puts
the cursor on the misspelled word.
  Thanks.
