Hi Chris, I am having this same problem in outlook 2007. If I delete a cconversation we will respeak it even though it has been deleted. I can use control numpad center to read the current line and that fixes it.

What usually happens is that WE would update the screen to show you have 0 messages. The only way to do this is to hit your up or down arrow keys and that usually fixes things. in this case, WE will report that you're on the same message you just deleted, when in reality you're on the next one, or in this case, there aren't any left in the list.
