Hello all.
For folks that have been comparing sccreen readers alot, its quite
interesting to note that Window-Eyes is the only screen that hasn't
considered making an "auto browse mode" feature. Even the open source
one may be getting into it soon.
My concern, is that yes you can go to the bottom of the page in a
message, lets say like in AOL 9.1's email client when viewing a message.
But the first page is not the actual message, its the details of the
message. To get to the actual message, you have to (in the correct term)
tab to the other window to read the message. But when WE is running, you
have to press "inser+b" then tab to tab over to it.
I also wonder if browse mode is even capable of doing automattic form
entering.
And speaking of forms, I know in WE that "p" and "shift-p" will go by
paragraph, but why doesn't the Internet Explorer and Firefox original
keys "control+up/down-arrow" work correctly?
And lastly, combow-boxes I know can be open with alt-down-arrow, and
closed with alt-up-arrow. But why can't the commands work inside of
browse mode?
It just seems to break a few Windows commands in explorer that make
perfect since.
And as for the "access keys" on web pages, I still wonder why browse
mode has to be turnned off just for WE to use them, even thoug they can
be heard. Are access keys not needed with WE's awesome web navagation
features?
