Yes, seeing much the same thing.  Scripting seems to be at the root of 
much of this; so is heavy pc activity.
What I am not sure, however, is whether this is truly a WE problem or how 
WE, the speech synthesizer and other software are interacting.
I am not a techie; but perhaps it may be as simple as too many things 
attempting to compete for the same memory slot at the same time.
Sometimes, speech comes back on its own; other times, you have to unload 
and restart WE, and other reboots are the solution.
Note that I have seen this issue with versions of WE on numerous pcs for 
as long as I have been using WE -- back to the ver 3 era.
Now, it seems to be occurring more frequently -- hardly rock solid 
borrowing that beloved GWMicro marketing term <smile>!!
I have turned off scripting -- don't really need it at the moment -- and 
this improves things greatly.
