Bill. Many things have changed with Window-Eyes over the last few versions. The new folder structure has been in place since version 6.1. Also, weave not included the scansoft voices since version 4.5 if I remember correctly. We found them to be less than responsive and so we have not included them since.

Many thanks.

I, like others on this list, have been having problems with the Ellequence synthesizer, and with speech dropping out at random times. In an attempt to gain some responsiveness, i tried to switch to a Sapi voice that put WE into a completely unworkable mode. I thus had to get sighted assistance in completely uninstalling WE from the add/remove programs list, and subsequently reinstalling WE from disk. (Good thing I paid for the disk, rather than relying on the web updates as I had since 5.1.) WE is now much faster and more responsive than it was; and I have had no speech loss. I can also use Elequence, which broke up too much to be usable before.

I notice that the default WE directory has changed. I also notice the Scansoft voices are no longer included on disk. Are they no longer supported?

Bill
