These are message threads. It helps because it means you can get rid of
a whole conversation by pressing the delete key once. if you want to
delete one message at a time, you need to change the current view to
only display messages and not threads.

Using WE 6.1 and XP with SP3, in Outlook Express there is an occasional
message Selected Collapsed Conversation. This comes up when I use
shift-delete to permanently delete email messages. It means pressing Y
for yes twice. Is this deleting something which should not be
deleted?The version of OE is 6 point something.
