i also am having the same issue
however, when i select all my messages for deletion, an error says it cant
delete the messages.

I am using We7.0 with Windows Vista Home Premium and can't figure out why
messages in the inbox seem to be hiding. I delete a message and then it
seems
to take forever for the next one to give the "unread" signal and the
subject.
I have turned off the reading pane and find nothing in the manual that
tells
me how to configure Outlook for best results for screen readers. I
continue
to get the message, "Office outlook not responding even as I read through
my
messages. Why?
What else can I do? I have no other programs running when this occurs.
