Because default sound is just a default beep. You need to choose
ascending sounds from the first set of radio buttons.
Also, ascending tones will not work in marquis bars because of the fact
that their nature is not knowing or not being able to show you when the
end is near.
Many thanks.

Why does the sound not ascend? I hear clicks then a beep. Sound is set to
default sound. And will this work for both types of bars?
Thanks.

Rather than unloading it, you could try changing its parameters. I
always have mine to ascending tones, don't speak percentages, and use
interval of percentage at 1 rather than seconds.

I had to unload the progress indicator because it kept repeating the
phrase 'Progress 1 100 percent' over and over every 5 seconds. This was
in IE though.

I just installed the progress indicator script.
After trying it out, I unloaded the script.
Now, in email messages, I hear a repeated tone until a message is ready
to be read.
Is this from the progress indicator script?
Even after closing Window-eyes and restarting it, I still get these
progress tones.
Anybody else see this?
