For calendar sharing/synchronizing, my wife and I use a service at www.airset.com The web interface is difficult and you MUST use IE as it has several onclicks that you cannot access using Firefox.
Once set up, calendar sharing is quite nice. For example: If I add an appointment to my outlook calendar that I would like my wife to see on her calendar, I simply categorize it as <family> and then use the Airset Synch utility (on my desktop) to synch my calendar with the copy on the web. The next time my wife synchronizes her calendar, that appointment will show up on her calendar. As I said, once set up, this works very well. If you need to use the web calendar and not outlook, it will be challenging but not impossible. I do know that you can share files as well, but have not tried it yet.
