Thank you very much. I am afraid that the problem is that I no longer have
access to the ribbon and, therefore, cannot follow your suggestions. This must
be a problem for FIREDOG (a desktop support) although the problem was supposed
to be taken care of before.

I do appreciate your help and knowledge and am not bald yet!

  Hello Patricia ,

There is a check box you must uncheck:

  1. Launch Word 2007.
  2. Press Alt, F, I to display the Word Options panes.
  3. Move onto the Proofing category with vertical Arrow keys in the left pane.
  4. Press Tab to move onto the right pane.
  5. press Tab twice to move onto the Ignore Words that
Contain Numbers check box.
  6. Pres SpaceBar to uncheck it, and press Enter to save and exit.

Now, Word 2007 will spell check words that contain alphanumberics.

    Hi Trish,

I'm not sure why word is not catching that word. I'll have to look in to
it further, and see if there is an option that can be set.

To setup a header or footer, do the following:

    1. Press Alt-N to access the Insert tab

    2. Tab until you get to Header or Footer

    3. Press Enter on either one

    4. Use the Up or Down Arrow to select the header or footer you want

    5. Then, type in the header or footer

    6. To exit and keep the header or footer, press Esc and you will return
to the document

    Jeremy

Subject: Spelling and Headers/Footers in Word 2007

    Hello,

I am using Vista and Word 2007. Does anyone know how to set up
headers/footers? And does anyone know how to get the spell checker to catch
words that have a number in them, such as "gener5osity?"

    Thank you,

    Trish
