Hi,

I use putty as earlier stated. Since you are using a dos telnet client, one
thing will be very annoying. When new text comes to the window, you will
have to use WE's mouse keys to read it. I have been trying to draw
attention to this problem. UNIX command line is an 80/25 world. Unless you
are using a braille display, it will be difficult to determine the exact
locations of information, especially in "vi".

Ever since my windows98 box bit it. I have not been able to use my 16bit
telnet client "console commander"l. I sorely miss it.

There are 3 main things that a good interface to a terminal emulater is;

1 Screen review functionality that is limited by the boundaries of the 80/25
screen.
2 The ability to vocalize(punn intended) any changes to the screen. Whether
its new incomming data, change in characters on the screen(refreshes or
replacements of characters) and highlight/underlining.
o A more reliable way to follow the cursor.

I don't know if anyone remembers Artic, vert or VocalEyes. All of these
"dos screen readers" were able to effective present terminal screens. So,
if anyone feels adventurous, a combination of settings and a script or 3 may
allow for this functionality.

If anyone has questions on the terminology or talk about this further,
please feel free to contact me off-list.

Warm Regards.. Joe Lanier

Subject: A Reasonably Accessible SSH Client

Hi all,

I spend much of my time remotely connected to various UN*X machines via ssh.
To accomplish this, I use an old DOS machine and Kermit telnetted into a
server on my local network. From the local machine, I use the command line
ssh to connect to the world outside.

I am aware of several Windows based ssh clients, but before I plunge into
exploring their functionality, I decided to seek the counsel of those wiser
than I. My question is, is there currently a Windows ssh client that is
reasonably accessible with Win-Eyes 7.01 under XP? It need not be perfect,
just usable. Thanks for any tidbits of knowledge.
