I use miranda IM. It works well with all readers with a bit of tweeking and
doesn't require the use of the mouse.

Subject: Thanks and a question re multi-platform chat
Hi again,
Thanks to all for your informative messages on ssh clients. I doubt
these will become a primary method for connecting to remote hosts due
to the tracking issues, but it will be useful in a pinch.
I am now researching multi-protocol chat clients. I dug through the
archives a bit. It appears that Trillian will work if one is not shy
about the mouse pointer. I do not have such a shyness.
Unfortunately, I have friends on most of the major chat platforms. I
do not want to run five programs to communicate with them. What are
people's current experiences with Trillian or other multi-protocol
clients? TIA!
-Len
