Setting the date back on the computer and setting the computer to a prior restore point are two different things. It sounds as if you are trying to set the computer to a prior restore point. Simply changing the date back to a prior won't fix this. In fact, even setting it back to a prior restore point mightnot solve the lost book from the recycle bin either, but others might know more than I on that one.

Good luck.

Hi Gang,

I inadvertently deleted a book that I was getting ready to upload to bookshare from the recycle bin. I'm thinking if I could set the date back on the computer that maybe I could retrieve it. I can get to the proper place where it shows setting the date back, but I can't seem to figure out how to pick a date. It just reads everything and I can't choose anything. I'm using the latest version of windoweyes and xp. Has anybody done anything like that and could you give me some tips on how to do it. I don't even know if I can retrieve that book, but I spent many hours on getting it ready and hate to lose all the time and effort.
Thanks.
