maximizeing makes no difference. w e is disabled until i go to a static box
then i can use the mouse and mouse clip keys. the same while it is scanning.
i have not tried the scan yett with w e scripting off to see if this solves the
crashes at the end of a scan.

When your in the main screen, try maximizing the window. I can do everything
with the mouse keys here or by pressing f5 I get the menus which you know
allready.
When I used version 3.0 after maximizing the window was able to do scans,
update etc by using the mouse keys.
Your using windows vista right?

i didn't know i told you about the user name and password. i was just going
to tell you about it here. i tried completely uninstall and start fresh to see
if it would still disable w e 7.01 on the main screen but this didn't make any
difference. w e is parshally disabled on the main screen. speak windows won't
speak, mouse clip keys do not work and i can only read the screen with the real
mouse.
i got the compiler error to after re installing because i entered my user
name and password from version 2.7. i had to re install again and its back
again and downloading again.

Finally got the right beta installed. It's working ok so far.
You were right about the update problem, it had a built in user name and
password.
I wonder if it will make splash announcements at start up like version
2.7 does?
