I guess, what you have problem with, in the V3, can best be summed up in one word: EVERYTHING. I downloaded the program update, as there is no way around, if you want to stay up-to-date, with your definitions database.

The software will open a screen, that to win-eyes will look more or less empty. Even attempting to use the mouse, simply produces a series of beeps (plings). There is no text, no buttons, no choices - nothing - recognized by WE.

I found that in the SysTray you will have an Icon, that you can press ENTER, and you will have a drop-down menu, where you can find a choice of Scan An d Repair. But it won't let the blind user see any information, not even gives any feedback when the scan is complete, and you are ready to do the repair. If you, after a while simply just choose to click on the repair button in the drop-down menu, you get no feedback whether or not, it has been done.

I agree: Advanced Windows Care (upto v2.9), was well accessible, even if it was a bit mouse intensive. Advanced System Care (v3) - please make sure you are aware of the change in the name, and don't get messed up, as to what you ACTUALLY are running on your computer - is totally INACCESSIBLE.

If anyone think they know how to operate it with WE, please post a step-by-step instruction, including how to operate, how to make neccessary settings, how to know when the scan/repair has finished, and what they actually have found/repaired, And how to ever get any information from the screen.

Once again, make sure we are talking the right software. This is NOT Advanced Windows Care (AWC), but the newest version - released a couple of weeks ago - Advanced System Care (ASC); both from Iobit. It is really a pity, as the AWC did do a good job, and was easily operated, first you got used to it.

Hi Steve,

Yes, I'm using it just fine with Window-Eyes. It's mouse intensive, but it is working pretty good. I have a few Window-Eyes friends who are also using this product with success.

What are you having problems with? If I can help, I'll gladly do so. <smile>

It's a great product.

Thanks much.

I found Advanced Windows Care up to version 2.9 to be a useful product easily navigable (for the most part) by use of the WE mouse keys. But in version 3.0 Iobit has changed not only the product name but also the interface. Has anyone had success working with the new interface?

If you currently have version 2.9, beware of upgrading to version 3. If you have automatic updating turned on, or is you click on "start the download" from the news screen, the process will be pretty automatic and will result in removal of 2.9 (and its useable interface) from your computer.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Steve
