Hi Brett, My experience is that this stutters do not come from a weak sound card but from poor drivers from the CD/DVD ROM when ripping. I had the same problem on a Dell laptop and could fix it with installing the newest chipset drivers.

My laptop only has 1 G of ram, so I get the stutters when I rip etc. Is there such a thing as an external USB sound card that could solve this? I found something called Sound Blaster for notebooks. Am I on the right track? Any shared knowledge will be appreciated. Brett If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
