I have also heard this ghost text which, for me, mainly comes from
Outlook 2003 deleted messages.
One new thing I have seen with we 7.01 is that sometimes when using
outlook 2003 and alt-tabbing around, if I alt-tab back to a message and
delete that message, at times I am left in dead space--that is, an
apparently empty window with no text, no title, etc. Alt-tabbing away
does not get rid of this empty window, but it has to be closed with
alt-f4. It does seem to close without problem, but this seems like
strange behavior which I believe is also related to browse mode.

Some times, but not all of the time.

Does redrawing the screen help?
