First let me start out this note by saying I love using the skype script for window-eyes, and appreciate how it uses the skype API to provide information. First the history of chats. This never gets updated When you press the command to see the last ten sent and received messages the information here is rather old. It should be updated as new information gets posted. The ini file gets ful and after that it nevers gets updated. Using the scripts with Braille is extreamly problematic. You move to a contact name and it is spoken but it only stays in Braille for a very short time. Yes we could turn flash messages off but the Braille should reflect where we are in skype it self. Class types are not read when they get focus. For example before the script started controlling this window-eyes would say button or list box etc. now just the class fields are reading with know names. Infact when you route the mouse pointer to the focus window-eyes reports the focus as a custom control. Where before it would report it as a button etc. also if you ruted the mouse pointer to the contact list box the mouse would be on the selected item. Now it routes it to the top of the control and you got to then locate the option that is selected. In skype 4.0 beta 3 the comversation list and live comversations list are not read at all. The control access to skype list box is not being read correctly. Basically what happens here is you press up or down arrow and the whole box is read verces just reading the selection. List indexes are not read. For example jim grimsby jr. 2 of 23 window-eyes does not report the numbers after. The other screen readers do this so it is getting it from some where. Speech loss while moving threw lists. Some times when you arrow threw the list like the contact list window-eyes will just stop speeking. You have to go to the desktop and then it will start talking again. In chats some times your own messages are not read. So lets say I am typing a message press enter some times window-eyes says nothing or just says my name. other times it may say my name twice. Reviewing the message history for skype will show that window-eyes is treating this as two separate messages. Note I think this is a bug in the skype API because you see this with skread and the Miranda skype plug-in as well. Group boxes are not being read. An example is the first group of radio button in the general section of the options dialog asks what should happen when I double click on a contact. Window-eyes will read the radio button name but not the group name. defining these as a group box class simply produces lots and lots of verbosity in other places. Hope this helps.
