Amen, and Amen... I dig what you are saying good sir. And I agree whole
heartedly. By the by, my guide dog does the same thing.

Subject: Come on people, Ease up!

Hello all!

Sometimes people can have a bad or irritating day! That is probably what
happened here! I can't blame some GW Micro staff for this especially when
this 64 bit OS system question keeps getting crammed onto the list and I
think for no good reason at times! I doubt the world will end soon if GW
Micro doesn't have Window Eyes for a 64 bit OS immediately! A number of you

remind me of my wife's guide dog! He goes crazy and starts whining whenever

we put on our coats and he doesn't have a leash or harness on! He thinks he

is being left behind and he really has a fit at times! How needless this
all is for him but that's the way he is! I would think those of you who
keep pounding GW Micro about this should know better and You should exercise

more patience I think! There are certainly more compelling situations where

we do not have access! What about I-phones and blackberry phones? These
are already here and it could be as much as two years, maybe more before we
have access to these phones!

I for one am comforted with the fact that I already have screen access
technology available to me which does work on a 64 bit OS and it isn't JFW
thank goodness! I'm very pleased with this screen access technology and I
don't care whether anyone doesn't like it particularly! What you like and
use is your business as it is mine! If you wish to use that 64 bit OS, go
to that screen reader for now till Window Eyes has the new version in place
which will work with 64 bit OS systems. Quit whining and do something about

it! We received a post a day or so ago that Window Eyes 7.1 is in the
development stage which should work for 64 bit OS systems. I for one
appreciate the fact that when GW Micro comes out with something, it will
work! More than likely, it may come out in a Beta! We all know what this
is all about! Nothing to my knowledge supports Windows seven. Screen
readers may work up to a point but people from the companies I'm familiar
with say Windows Seven isn't supported by their respective screen readers!
So what's my point? It is this!

I am comforted by the fact that when I'm about to purchase a new PC, my
screen readers will be there for me! My new PC will be up and running and I

hope my screen reders will install quickly and I can get on with the
business of setting up my new PC. Right now, I can't afford a new PC. I
therefore will stick with what I have so long as it works and I can get
upgrades for it! When the day arrives as it did for my Windows 98 machine,
when I discovered I could no longer download Adobe reader onto that
computer, I purchased my present equipment! All has been fine for over two
years now! I fully realize its day will come! Right now, having software
for a 64 bit OS won't make much difference for me presently but when I am
able to buy a new computer, I may notice the difference!

If this bothers some of you, just remember my birthday is a couple of months

away for real! Why not get me a laptop capable of 64 bit RS with Windows
Vista and I'll give it a try and see whether I notice the difference! You
can wait till June if you like, but it would be nice if somebody remembered
my birthday in this way (grin smile)! After all, I need all the uplift I
can get since I am reaching the young age of 60! I won't hold my breath on
this!

I will say I have office 2003 on this particular laptop and Window Eyes 7.01

seems to work fine with it! I think some should consider upgrading their
Window eyes which would respond better to newer situations than older
versions!

I also agree that Google is the best friend one can have for finding out
anything about a given subject. I use it allot!

I can understand some sense of urgency if one were a technology trainer or
one writes software or works with audio but I don't feel it is the end of
the world right now if many of us won't be able to use a 64 bit OS machine
right away!

On to other things! I'm off the soap box! Thanks for reading!
