Do you have DECtalk set as the backup synthesizer? Check this in the
select synthesizer dialog. If so you might be pressing shift while
WE launches switching to DEC. You could verify this by setting
Eloquence as your backup synthesizer.

Hi Everyone:
I am seriously thinking of REVERTING BACK to Version 6.1 of
Window-Eyes! In that version, my chosen speech synthesizer,
Eloquence, RETAIN their settings. Countless numbers of times, I
have been forced to RESET WINDOW-EYES! I chose Eloquence as my
speech engine; however, you can always TRUST WINDOW-EYES 7.1 to
REVERT BACK to the DecTalk that SHIPS with Window-Eyes. May be some
others LOVE this DecTalk voice, I am CERTAINLY NOT ONE OF THEM! In
fact, it sounds so awful I wish I could SINK IT for good!
Before downgrading, I'd be interested in knowing whether or not
there is something else I can do to ensure that my chosen speech
synthesizer STAYS THE SAME whenever I reboot Windows or restart Window-Eyes.
Thanking you for all help!!
Sincerely,
Olusegun
