The RC stands for Release Candidate. As I understand what this means is that it is a step above a beta but not an official release.

This has always been my experience with betas or release candidates. Some sites, such as banks, will not let you log in because the browser in question is not secure.

What is the RC1 thing? Is there anywhere to learn what Internet Explorer 8 has that 7 doesn't? Unless it can be related to Window-Eyes, there's no point posting anything about it here except a link. <smile>
