Yes, I've noticed that, and I dislike it. I think it's the dec-talk
synth which is most guilty about it.
I've made some of my dictionary exceptions use the string "eigh" instead
of the letter "a" when I'm trying to spell something (such as making
MSAA an exception of "m s eigh eigh"). Maybe you can redefine the
letter "a" as an exception, making it "eigh" to handle it in all cases?
