It sounds like the progress indicator script was constantly telling you
about the volume levels of the chat window. So to turn off the progress
messages for that window only, press CONTROL+SHIFT+WINDOWS+P while in
that window and that will fix it.

I was on ACBRadio, in the “Tuesday Topics” chat room. I could not get
WindowEyes to stop talking, so I couldn’t hear the ongoing
conversation. Finally, I turned off WE, but then, of course, I couldn’t
read/hear any of the printed info on the screen, e.g., who was talking,
or any of the text messages. What should I do the next time I want to
participate in an online discussion via an ACBRadio (or other) chat
