It would if Firefox or IE provided a programmatic way of doing it.

Hi. Some pages need more drastic action. There are some pages where Java
Script will reload pages even when autoload is off. In this case in
Firefox under the content tab you can turn Java Script off and then turn
it back on when you want default behavior. I wonder if a script to toggle
Java Script on and off would be a possibility.

Hi. Another solution is to do the following while browse mode is on.
1. Press insert-a to toggle auto-load to off.
2. Press enter on the edit box.
3. Type your text.
4. Press submit or confirm, or what ever needs to happen to submit the
form.
5. The new page will load, but Browse mode will not because you told it
not to come on automatically. Press control-shift-a to turn Browse mode.
6. If finished and ready to go back to default behavior, press insert-a
again to toggle auto-load to on.
Hope this helps.

Hi Jed,
I've noticed this problem with more and more web sites lately. These
sites automatically refresh there home page every few seconds. W-E can
block some auto refreshing, but I haven't had any luck stopping a
complete page reload.
I've found that the best way around this problem is to quickly find a
link on the home page as the other pages on these sites usually don't
autorefresh.

Hey guys,
Wondering if anyone has had this problem.
I loaded a web page where I had to enter some info in to a form.
I went to the first edit box, pressed enter, and it said brouse mode
off.
As I started typing the stuff I had to, windows went dong, and it said,
downloading page.
Has anyone had this problem?
Why would it all of a sudden lose focus on what I am doing?
It's annoying.
Thanks,
Jed
