Actually Gary I noticed right away that my Window Eyes slowed way down when I
entered in to the Java console through the settings menu. It isn't bad though.

Subject: Another Way to Start Window-Eyes?

There are several ways to start Window-Eyes. We can do it from the Start
Menu; we can set it to load at startup, and we can type Alt+Control+w. I found
another way last night after installing the script for JAVA access. Following
Jim Grimsby's suggestion, I tried accessing the JAVA Control Panel on my XP
Home system. I was able to access all of the controls in the dialog. I had
never tried this dialog with JAWS since I don't have the JAVA Access Bridge
installed, but I wanted to see if JAWS would give me any information about the
dialog. I exited Window-Eyes and started JAWS. I then went back into the
dialog and tabbed around. I was surprised to hear the controls being spoken
perfectly. When I exited the dialog, I found out why. Both Window-Eyes and
JAWS began chattering away using DECtalk Access32. Apparently, when I accessed
the JAVA Control Panel using JAWS, Window-Eyes was started automatically, and I
somehow missed the opening announcement. While listening to DECtalk chant in
unison was somewhat entertaining, I would say this could cause some problems
for those who use both screen readers.
