by the way, I called it Java components for simplicity's sake. it is in fact the Java Platform RuntTime Environment. which you can download from the sun micro systems website. If you can wait a little I'll send you a sendspace link sometime this evening London time.

I appreciate this explanation. Could you please tell me where to get the
Java components, or how to make sure they are updated?

Subject: Re: java

Imagine a multi screen cinema
WindowEyes is by default designed to give you audio description
(access) only to movies in one of the theatres, i.e., the one that
only displays applications designed with the Microsoft graphical user
interface controls.
Java programs are normally designed with Java's own exclusive
graphical user interface controls which are not readily accessible to
most screen readers. So, imagine a Java program as a movie displayed
in one of the other theatres albeit without audio description.
Now the good news is that wineyes users are potentially able to use
Java Software solutions like any other win32 (windows) program with
the help of the Java for WE program.
The point of Java is that you are able to install and use the same
Java program on any machine so long as you have the Java components
installed.
Think of it as a diplomat who is able to work anywhere in the world
with the help of interpreters and translators.
