Hello. Try pressing numpad-7 so Window-Eyes top-left and see if that makes a difference. I wonder if your mouse pointer is sitting on just the right spot of the system tray.

Many thanks.

Hello,

I just received and installed Window-Eyes 7.01 and I am experiencing
problems reading the Start Menu as I arrow up and down the Start Menu
Window-Eyes reads the title bar of the current application and the time and not
the menu items. This appears to be only the Start Menu as application menus
seem to be reading normally. This is not just the start menu but as I type
this and flip to another window and back it reads the title bar of all open
windows and the time and not the words as I complete them.
