I have seen the same thing and have found the same solutions. Open in a new window, try a different browser, close and then reopen a browser, or a reboot. It's just one of those pc anomalies that I long ago accepted as part of pc life and a small price to pay for all the benefits the net provides. I am old enough to remember when getting at what is now on the net was merely a dream be one sighted, blind, left-handed, right-handed, web-boted, whatever. Perhaps it shouldn't be; but it is and that's it in my mind.
