Hi all, Recently I mentioned a great utility for saving and automatically restoring your audio settings, including which device should be the default audio device, the mute state, and volume. In vista, it additionally handles restoring each individual volume and mute state. It is Power Mixer, and a trial download can be found at: http://www.actualsolution.com/power_mixer
I seem to recall it's under $20. I plan to buy it, and set it to run in my startup folder, as I too have lost speech because something has disabled my audio in some way. Someone mentioned Talking Audio Safeguard, so I contacted IRTI and asked them about it. It does *not* handle default audio device, and it does not function fully under vista, and it is the same price as Power Mixer. They say they have plans to fix these issues soon though. hth, Chip ------------------------------ Chip Orange Database Administrator Florida Public Service Commission [email protected] (850) 413-6314 (Any opinions expressed are solely those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the Florida Public Service Commission.)
