Dear Listers: When trying to play dvd movies on my xp machine using window-eyes 7.01, it no longer says I have a decoder missing. Then it said to reduce the screen resolution and lower the color quality. Before lowering them, I had a resolution of 1024 by 768 with the color quality of highest 32-bit. Now I have lowered them to a resolution of 600 by 800 and a color quality of medium 16-bit. I still get the same message that windows media player is suggesting that I should perhaps lower the screen resolution and color quality. I also made sure that there was no screen saver active. Is that correct that the higher the resolution, the bigger the number and the lower resolution are the smaller numbers? Since it plays audio dvds okay, what else could be interfering with being able to play video and where can I get rid of them? Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks. Regards: Ted Larson
