I was commenting on Andy Baracco's ballpark price for the Book Sense which
he said was given to him at the CSUN Conference. He didn't say whether he
got this ballpark figure from a representative of GW Micro or from a taxi
driver, but just in case it was some sort of trial balloon to see how
customers would react, I thought it would be good for potential buyers to
make their opinions known.
By the way, Kevin, I live in the same universe that I suspect most of the
people on this list inhabit, one in which we have to spend our own money for
such items as the Book Sense rather than depending on VR to buy it for us.
And I also know from my past experience in the assistive technology field
that the lower the price, the easier it is to get an item approved for
purchase by VR for those who are fortunate enough to get their technology
purchased for them.

So, the Stream is cheaper even though you just
stated that the pricing for the voice Sense has not yet been set?
Interesting universe you inhabit.

Since pricing has not yet been set, potential users should feel free to
express themselves on whether they would be willing to pay as much as $500
for Book Sense after comparing its features with players already on the
market, such as the VictorReader Stream, which sell at a lower price.

The official announcement says, "Pricing for Book Sense will be decided
soon
and shipping will start later this year."

At CSUN, i was given a ballpark figure of $500. This would put it at
a level quite a bit more expensive than the VR Stream, and still more
expensive than the Plextalk Pocket.

And lets face it, in todays economy all we can do is gues. I live in the
UK
so don't use dollars on a regular basis. I was in the states last Summer
and received $2 for every £1, now we receive nothing like this, so I took
an
approximate estimatation of what I guessed was about right, I think that
just about, approximately rationalises my point, I think, perhaps, maybe!

Interesting, and bad rationalizing.
Aproximate means you were at least close.
Just be proud of being lazy.
