In my media transfer business I use several software packages, but the one I use the most is GoldWave. If my budget allowed just one software purchase, it would be my choice, hands down.

I'm not converting vinyl records, but have quite a lot of cassette tapes I would like to digitize. So I would be very grateful if anyone replying to Vaughan would send me the same info. I presume the same software would do cassettes as well as vinyl. Would that be right?

Thanks very much.

Subject: Window-Eyes, Converting Vinyl Albums to MP3 Files

Hello everyone.

I have a large collection of records and the mission is to convert them
into digital files.

I currently have the Roxio software, which does not seem very Window-Eyes
friendly.

I would appreciate receiving recommendations regarding good accessible
software which has as one of its strengths conversion of vinyl albums to
MP3.

If the consensus is Nero, then that is what I wil buyh, but I have to say
that the demonstration opportunity provided before making a decision to
purchase has left me uninformed. It does seem tha tit offers more than I
need, and so far, Goldwagve looks like an accessible application for
editing etc. So: the emphasis is on copying from original vinyl to MP3.

Also: because this is far more than just Window-Eyes, any useful lists and
blogs which people can recommend would also be welcomed.
Thanks in advance.

Vaughan.
