To Penny's point, I agree: I too find it very difficult to listen to the audio captia, turn off browse mode, enter the letters or numbers, etc. The pages on which these captias are located also seem to be prone to a behavior that causes the cursor to drift away from the edit field. I often give up and ask for sighted help. My hearing is good. My screen reader skills are good, I think. I still can't use the darn things.

There is so much background noise, that a person listening and trying to type (while also listening to a screen reader) simply cannot accomplish the task of listening, processing and copying the image into the edit box -- At least, I cannot do it! If Google and others who provide audio captias are serious about making the captia accessible, then they need to make the process *easy to accomplish. The audio captia needs to be audible (not merely audio); the captia needs to be distortion free, and crystal clear. A link is provided after the edit box where you are supposed to enter the letters is present. Once you click on this link, a window will open and you will hear a voice reading off the numbers/characters. -- Thank you Jyotsna Kaki Accessibility Testing Specialist "This email may be confidential or privileged.
