Anyone who cares at all about internet safety would be opposed to the idea of getting rid of them. after all it keeps the bots out. Bots can do a lot of damage and cause all kinds of problems. So while you and I might find them problematic that is not enough of a reason to get rid of them. they do more good than harm.
