Jed, are you running outlook under vista?
I do have a problem specific only to the combination of outlook 2003 running under vista with window eyes. in this case, often when I start outlook, window eyes is unable to read anything in the list of messages with the normal cursor keys. the mouse keys show all the messages, just not the keys that are supposed to read the highlighted item; they just say "no highlighted item". is this your problem? your descript that it just "flips out" could really use some clarifying. if it's very slow to respond in outlook, I've seen this with an overloaded and slow exchange server; are you using it with exchange?
