No, I'm not using alt+down arrow, I'm pressing alt (alt+space doesn't work
in Winamp, but pressing alt by itself brings up the same menu), pressing
down arrow until I get to the minimize item, then hitting enter. Windows+m
does minimize Winamp without loss of speech, but then I minimize any other
apps also running.

Here's something else I've just discovered that seems odd, perhaps related
to the minimize issue. If I press alt+f, arrow down to bookmarks, right
arrow to expand the submenu, arrow to any of the items listed, and hit
enter, I again suffer the same loss of speech. It's almost like the script
doesn't like my using Winamp's menus or something. Didn't have this behavior
with the previous script either. I've successfully duplicated both issues on
two different machines.

Hi Jasen,

maybe this is just a typo, but you seemed to say you were using alt-down
arrow to minimize winamp. while I don't use winamp, I've never seen
alt-down arrow minimize an application. is this something special to
winamp? if it's not special to winamp, could this keystroke mean something
to the script, be a hotkey for it, and that's the problem?

could you try minimizing the winamp window a different way; say with the
windows key plus M command, which minimizes all windows? or even by
pressing alt-spacebar and then finding the minimize choice from the menu
that pops up?

hth,

Chip
