Hi Munaware,

I really think you won't get any more out of GW than "soon".

I believe the entire purpose of version 7.1 is to fix problems with 7.0,
and I get the strong feeling that they aren't letting it out until it's
really and truely all fixed. that means you can't predict very well
when that's going to be.

I'm a software developer as well, and it's a constant constant battle to
try and explain to people "I've never done this particular programming
job before, so I don't know how long it's going to take, and if you pick
a date that sounds good then it may not be ready on that date, and then
what's the entire point of doing that?"

It's a discussion I've had with every one of my bosses, and every person
I've been assigned to program for. I've been accused of both being
"late all the time" and "giving unrealisticly long estimates", I think
by the same boss!

The best I've ever been able to do is to give estimates with a 100
percent error range: 1 to 2 weeks, 2 to 4 months, that kind of thing.

any way, sorry I used this answer to climb on my soapbox; I have a
feeling it will be soon, but trying to hurry GW will only be bad for us
in the end.

waiting along with you,

Chip
