Hello Kim, There is no legislation in the UK which prevents these things being sold in the UK.
There are at least 2 re-sellers of Window-Eyes that I know of. These both provide good service to those who buy from them. I think that the issue is that the manufacturers of the Book sense can, probably rightly, decide on their marketing routes. They have decided that GW can only market in the Us (or maybe elsewhere), but not in the UK. To buy the Book sense in the UK you need to go via their designated UK re-seller. >From there, the argument is, you will get full support, guarantees etc. Regards, John Contact on : (Home) [email protected] or : (work) [email protected] Help raise funds for The Dacorum Talking Newspaper, shop at www.buy.at/dtnhemel -----Original Message----- From: Kim Lingo [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 06 June 2009 16:24 To: Ray; Darren Harris Cc: GW Info Subject: RE: book sense in the uk I'm a little mystified as to why the UK. wouldn't allow something like the Book Sense, or (apparently Window-Eyes itself) to be sold there. Is it because they believe the device is made in Korean sweatshops, or possibly EEU. protectionism of a competitor? The answer won't change the situation, but it's just another Saturday morning, and I'm just thinking this over. Anyone with any ideas?
