Dear List:
Concerning the following article, does this mean that if I can use the read by
word hot keys (such as control-right arrow), then I would not need to be
concerned about doing the steps in the article? I am using an XP machine with
Window-Eyes 7.01 Thanks. Regards: Ted Larson

Symptom:
Using Window-Eyes 5.0, or greater, when pressing the Speech Paramters hot keys
(CTRL-ARROW
KEYS by default) Window-Eyes will not indicate the current speech parameter
setting.
Cause:
An Intel video application running in the background uses these keys to modify
various
video settings, such as screen rotation.
Solution:
You will need to disable the Intel hot keys, by performing the following
general
steps:
1. Open the Windows control panels
2. Open the Display control panel
3. Select the Settings tab
4. Select the Advanced button
5. Select the Intel(R) Extreme Graphics option
6. Select the Graphics Properties option
7. Select the HotKeys option
8. Uncheck Enable Hot Keys option
You may also be able to open the Graphic Properties options using CTRL-ALT-F12.
