I just launched Windows Update which I launched from the Start Menu, and allowed it to find updates and it went clikety clik click just fine! So ca't duplicate it crashing with WE7.1 beta 1.
Will now install IE8 but since I'm on an extended vacation after my temporary job ending, I am determined to switch to FireFox and Thunderbird for email.
