Thanks for the info. I was aware there were other areas to find the info (eg press F6 twice from within a folder and you're placed on a list of folders with the unread messages against each); however, I was hoping for a quicker means - sounds like the need for a script if this can't be changed within Outlook 2007 itself! From the list of messages, if you tab once or twice or shift tab four or so times (it varies a bit depending on circumstances), you get the number of unread messages. I can't remember if I had to play with settings to have that show up, having been using it for some time now. In the verbosity options, I have both "Current Index" and "Include Listview Headers (Excluding First Column)" checked but neither are speaking what they should be, ie no index number or column headers are spoken. 2. The Outlook status bar seems to be different to that in Outlook Express in that it doesn't show how many unread messages there are. Is there a way of changing this, please?
