Aaron, that's very helpful. My guess is that we might sell a fare
number of these on the basis of 64 bit compadibility. The only thing
the brailliant has going for it that the syncbraille doesn't really is
bluetooth connectivity. Do you know if we could expect something like
this to come along in the not so distant future?

Warning: Shameless plus ahead.
While I can't vouch for other displays, the SyncBraille display
works perfectly under 64-bit Windows Vista and Windows 7 with Window-
Eyes.

Hi, I could be rong, but you might actually be in good shape here.
If
your new computer has the serial port that display needs then you
should
be able to just plug in and go. The catch is that a lot of newer
computers aren't going to have the 9 pin serial. You'll have to buy
an
addapter and that addapter will have to be 64 bit compadible. The
cost
shouldn't be more than about $20 or so. It was a simpler world back
then. These devices didn't really have drivers they just had firmware
that talked to a serial port. Newer displays are smaller, sleeker,
and
nicer in a lot of important ways, but we still don't have 64 bit usb
drivers for say the brailiant and braille connect from humanware. Not
sure what is rong in the minds of the people who develop these
things,
but there is obviously a cog loose somewhere.

Hi GW and list,
I am buying a new computer and want to use the new 64 bit Windows
support in WE 7.1. I have an old Alva 340 braille display that works
perfectly with my current computer. Will I still be able to use this
display with 64 bit Vista or Windows 7 with the current driver?
Thanks and regards
