Hi, I doubt scripts are placing an extra load on your cpu; but, if you want to see what is, press control-alt-del to bring up the dialog that then, let's you press alt-t to bring up the task manager. go to the processes tab. make sure cpu usage is one of the displayed columns; you may have to remove some of the others you are not interested in seeing, so that it will fit on the line. the only other one you need to leave would be the image name. next, after you've selected what columns to see, use the mouse cursor to move up to the top, and click on the "cpu usage" text at the top of it's column. this will sort your list of running processes by their cpu usage, and they will always be sorted from now on when you come back here, until you change it. now that they are sorted, move to the bottom of the list with control-end, and you can hear which process is using the most cpu time and how much that is. it may not always be clear from the image name who it belongs to, but wineyes is the window eyes process, and you can see if it's using a lot of cpu time to execute scripts. normally for me wineyes stays under 10%, usually under 5%. if you see it taking 50%, then there is indeed a problem script. I was able to find a problem touchpad driver on my laptop this way, which at times would eat up all the cpu. hth, Chip

I use a demo until I get my real cd in a few weeks. One question though. Sometimes scripting causes my PC to slow down and my fan spin like crazy. What do you think is causing that? ________________________________ Download the AOL Classifieds Toolbar <http://toolbar.aol.com/aolclassifieds/download.html?ncid=emlcntusdown00 000004> for local deals at your fingertips.
