This isn't a case of WE being left out as much as it is general lackof
accessibility in my opinion. Those instructions are very outdated and from
my experience the Flash doesn't work with any screen reader.

I've left feedback to shoplocal on several occasions with no response yet.
There's a link for feedback to the company in a blog posting I wrote about
this last December. See
http://blog.kellyford.org/archives/2008/12/disappointing_s.html. Consider
giving feedback to the folks at shoplocal too. They do the online ads for a
number of companies.

As a long time user of Window Eyes I always hope that WE beats JAWS to
the punch. In this case us WE users are left out to dry.

I don't usually comment about items like this but wow what a disconnect. GW
Micro and Adobe have had worked together for years. However developers of
other aplications never look out of their box very often which is
unfortunate.

Subject: Accessing Best buy weekly ad

When you go to the Best Buy home page and click on weekly ad it appears to
take you to a site called shop local which is totally inaccessible with WE.
It has a link for screen reader support that says the following:

How to access this weekly ad site with the aid of a screen reader...
Offering web solutions that are accessible is important here at ShopLocal.
To best
assist guests that wish to use screen reader software to access the weekly
ad site,
the following three easy steps need to be understood and followed:
1. ShopLocal only supports the screen reader
JAWS 8.X for WindowsR, from Freedom Scientific,
which is the most popular screen reader worldwide.
2.To access the weekly ad site, all guests must have already installed the
required
Adobe Flash Player 9 browser plug-in. If you have not already, this
free 1.4 MB download from Adobe is easily installed by following this link.
3. To use the JAWS screen reader with the weekly ad site most effectively,
all guests
must download and install a set of
free scripts (ZIP file that is 88K) from the Adobe website
as a one-time activity. These scripts enable some of the accessibility
features
of the weekly ad site and allow guests to utilize the standard JAWS keyboard
shortcuts
than would otherwise be possible. Please note that these scripts only work
for users
of JAWS 8.x and later.
For more information on these add-on JAWS scripts, please visit the
following help
page that Adobe hosts that talks more about
using Adobe Flex applications with JAWS

This shop local site seems to come up on other sites as well for looking at
their weekly ads as well.

Could someone write scripts or some how convert these Jaws scripts so that
WE will work with the site.

It just isn't right that it is accessible with JAWS and not WE.
